Justus Kreuels, patent attorney in Düsseldorf, advises companies on German, European and international patent law. He specializes in the fields of mechanical and plant engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, software and IT, robotics and automation as well as medical technology.
He studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and at RWTH Aachen University where he graduated as Master in Engineering in 2007. In 2011 he qualified as German Patent Attorney and in 2012 as European Patent Attorney. As a partner, he has held management positions in various Düsseldorf patent law firms since 2014.
His practice focuses on patent applications, patent grant proceedings in Germany and at Europe, opposition and patent nullity proceedings against granted German and European patents before the EPO, the GPTO and the Federal Patent Court, validity and infringement opinions, development of IP strategies, patent infringement proceedings and patent nullity proceedings.
Philipp Henrichs deals with the legal defence and enforcement of trademark, design, competition and patent law claims. In addition, he advises companies on the development of IP strategies and the establishment and maintenance of international trademark and design portfolios. He also has extensive expertise in the field of drug advertising law.
Philipp Henrichs studied law at the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf and the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg from 1993 to 1998. During his studies and legal clerkship he already focused on intellectual property law.
Since his admission to the bar in 2001, he has been working exclusively in the field of intellectual property. In 2020 the national German business newspaper "Handelsblatt" and "Best Lawyers" nominated him one of “Germany`s Best Lawyers” in the field of intellectual property law. Philipp Henrichs is a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright Law (GRUR) and an active "Parallel Imports Committee" member of the International Trademark Association (INTA).
Hermann Kahlhöfer advises clients in patent law, in particular in the fields of electrical engineering, medical technology and physics. He has been working in the field of intellectual property for more than 40 years and has extensive experience in the field of national and international patent prosecution procedures and patent infringement matters as well as in the development and exploitation of intellectual property portfolios.
After completing two years of military service with a special emphasis on telecommunication, Hermann Kahlhöfer was accepted by Bonn University where he studied astronomy and physics. At the same time he attended lectures on law at Bonn and Cologne University, which made him consider a career as a patent engineer. Following his studies, he worked in the patent departments of various companies (Interatom GmbH, Siemens AG and their subsidiaries). He was admitted as a European Patent Attorney in 1985 and has been a patent assessor since 1990. Following the German patent attorney examination, he assumed leading functions as a partner in various patent law firms in Düsseldorf since 1994.
Raphael Sander advises clients on patent law, particularly in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanics, and mechanical engineering. He represents companies in application, opposition, infringement, and nullity proceedings before the DPMA, the EPO, and the Federal Patent Court.
He studied electrical engineering and information technology (Master of Science) at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich, specializing in energy systems, power electronics, electrical machines, and drives.
Before training as a patent attorney, Mr. Sander worked for the German Armed Forces for eight years in various positions, most recently as deputy head of the S3 staff department. Mr. Sander has been working in intellectual property law since 2017 and was admitted as a patent attorney in 2020.
At Kreuels Henrichs IP, Annika Sandner coordinates marketing, communications, finance, and process management. With her many years of experience in intellectual property law, she supports the management team in planning, implementing, and optimizing efficient structures and processes.
Having worked for various patent and law firms in Munich and Düsseldorf since 2011, her focus is on project management, law firm marketing, and business development.
